Centennial Olympic Park II

ImageCentennial Olympic Park. is a great place to take the kids! or go down by yourself! or take your significant other. ImageYou can have a picnic in the shade.Image

Or you can go to Legal Seafood. Our trick is sharing. I recommend the Clam Chowder, get a cup, it is delicious! We split the Fish and Chips, spicy, it wasn’t very spicy but it was really awesome. The fish was so fresh and fried perfectly.Image

The kids can play in the fountain, bring a towel! Image

When all is done, try SkyView. It truly is fun!Image

It is not scary (there is a “panic” button just in case) The views are great! Image

It really has grown into a great destination in Atlanta. Let me know what kind of fun you have in the park.

Honey Moon (Friday the 13th)

This months full moon coincides with its perigee (when it’s closest to the earth during its orbit). So, it will appear super large on the horizon.Image

Pair that with the June summer solstice when the sun cuts its highest path in the sky, a smathering of atmospheric dust & pollution and the whole thing will give off an amber or “honey” hue.

So, hopefully the sky will be clear tonight and we will have a spectacular view!

(Happy Birthday Ella! Love you so! Special day for a special person!)

Georgia Aquarium Fun Fun Fun!!!

ImageHello Beluga Whales. Aren’t they just so beyond words, peaceful, omnipresent, joyous! There is such a strong connection with these gentle mammals.

When we first arrived we were informed the Dolphin Tales Show was about to start in 15 minutes. Image

We got in and found three seats up top in the middle. The show is pretty amazing. The dolphin are truly awesome. You have to see this it will give you chills. Admission to the show is included in your admission to the Aquarium. (Quick tip: Go to the kiosks outside to purchase your tickets. It is much quicker.)

Then we decided to go Ocean Voyager. Lucked out again, they were about to feed the whale sharks! ImageSo you are in an acrylic tunnel and these humongous sharks are all swimming above you, it is so cool! But, that wasn’t enough for us we wanted to go up top and see what goes on behind the scenes. You can do this too, there are two tours for this area. One is for 20 minutes and the other is for an hour. We opted for the 20 minutes, so worth it! Image

There is so much to see and do at the Aquarium. Take the kids go this summer. Have a blast and let me know what you think!

Oh, you can pet and touch a lot of creatures too! Image

Historic Chamblee

ImageThis is obviously Chamblee City Hall. Across the street is my favorite furniture consignment shop,ImageConsignment Furniture Depot. If you need a new dining room table and chairs or sofa, bedroom, outdoor furniture or a greeting card (yes, they really have them too) I had to walk off my lunch from Southbound, the shrimp and grits, so onto The Ice House, next door.ImageThis place rocks, it has a little bit of everything interesting. I don’t know if you’ve seen the retro looking refrigerators they sell now, well, they sell them here. They have cool totes and lots of collectables. I love this bar. Let me know what you think…Image

All up and down Peachtree Rd. (in Chamblee) are Antique Stores filled to the brim with treasures! Here’s what the fox said.Image

Took that with my iphone.

Then took the long trek to the end of the road across from a really cool cemetery. Was this place Image

They make all kinds of furniture and frames and really cool items from reclaimed wood. They have cool metal flowers and all kinds of interesting stuff. It’s a fun Staycation in Chamblee. Down the other end of the road is Maison Robert Chocolates, whoa, that will take a whole other day.

Check out Historic Chamblee, my final stop was here.ImageChamblee Bistro, is a comfy little sandwich shop. Great sandwiches, and the best brownies ever. That is what the sign said, I took the challenge and I agree, it is the best! I cannot wait to hear what you think!
