Super easy but super yummy, Jan’s Come to Jesus Blondies.
Ingredients:
8 tablespoons of butter (unsalted) – one stick
1 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch of salt
1 cup all purpose flour
Mix melted butter with the brown sugar, make sure it cools a little before you beat in the egg and vanilla. Add the salt and flour
Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
These sound great for fall and pretty easy too…just might have to try them!
Let me know what you think!
OK, my friend…I must ask if something is left out of the recipe. I made it just exactly as posted. I love the flavor…how could one not like brown sugar anything? However, they did not rise at all. They were flat and doughy, gooey…and yummy, actually…but not as I think they should be. They were like little cookie cups that would be great filled, but again, not as suggested. This morning, I tried again, thinking that my higher altitude might be the problem. So I increased the heat 5 degrees, the supposed fixer for altitude baking. Well, now they are hard, still did not rise and I have to pry them out of the pan. I will too, because they still have a great flavor. Any advice???
Did you use all purpose flour, that is the only thing that might make a difference.
I did…wondered if I should have used cake flour. Hmmm….so there is no baking powder or soda in the recipe?
