It’s that time again, time for the Fall Festivals! There will be several festivals in the upcoming weeks. This past weekend, I went to the LaVista Park Fall Festival. That’s my neighborhood. There were several booths with some crafts and art and fitness places oh and a couple of realtors. There was a cakewalk. The best part was the pet costume contest.

Crisper weather, along with everyone on the Food Network making some sort of Chili and/or Dip today. One chili was a Bloody Mary Chili, with even a little vodka (I do put beer in my chili).

I started with some stew meat, heated up some olive oil, browned it took it out threw in some shopped up onions, celery, carrots and red pepper. Then I took some sausage, that had green hatch chilies in.

I put in spices, cumin, chile powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper. Tomato puree, diced tomatoes tomatoes with green chilies. (oh and some beer, modela especial) And yes some beans, light red kidney beans and dark red kidney beans.

It turned out great on this chilly chili day!
