A great deal to see at this years Decatur Art Festival. It was packed on Sunday. It is a fun thing to do for everyone in the family. They have really great musicians and some really good festival food. I had the Jalepeno corn dog. It was great! I am in trouble too, because it is so good it is craveable. They also offered healthier grub too, but hey it’s a Festival and we are on Staycation! (Yes they had funnel cakes)
They had an open mike for comedians. There were 3 of them and they were all really good. They each made me laugh out loud.
The girl is just in high school. Good fun!
There were a lot of interesting artists, photographers, jewelry artisans, wood workers and ceramist (potters). I got a really cool bracelet.
If you can you should try and make it next year. It really is a blast!
I forgot to let you know, the Decatur Arts Festival is this weekend! You can still make it today.
I will let you know what was going on there later.
It will be fun!
This is one of my favorite places in Atlanta and when you go you will totally understand why. It’s a great small town feeling with lots of friendly people, just a great vibe! I will revisit often to show you more, this is just the beginning. Squash Blossom Boutique has unique cute clothing, shoes and accessories. It is trendsetting.
The restaurants are part of the greatness! Iberian Pig, awesome memorable meals! Sweet Melissa’s has some great and I mean great breakfast meals. There is one restaurant that has dishes that are craveable to me.
They have a a lot of dishes with Hatch chiles. They have a green chile roast every year in September. But the thing I love best are the enchiladas, order them and then thank me. The chowder is awesome also! I was hesitant to share, but it is so great, you must at least try it.
That’s it for Decatur today, but I will return and bring you some great info!
