Landmarks around Atlanta – Centennial Olympic Park

IMG_2313Centennial Olympic Park is in downtown Atlanta. It’s a beautiful place to visit and there is a lot to do….IMG_5276     IMG_5274

IMG_5295You can play in the fountains, but every now and then they put on a fountain concert. It was actually really entertaining. IMG_5301This groovy little chickadee enjoyed it!

Then you can take a ride on Sky View, where I met this super nice photographer, and Lucky, a sweet girl who is a loader, they put you into the cars.IMG_5316 Oh and there was a company outing in the park and there were teams of line dancers…IMG_5331

The College Hall of Fame is down there now too. IMG_5317  IMG_5341Which I am sure it will become a landmark on its own in the future.

All that walking got me a little peckish, so off to IMG_5344Legal Sea Foods, which is a Boston Landmark with an outpost here. It is so good.IMG_5346Clam Chowder and a Blue Moon beer, yummy. I was also my server’s very first customer ever, that was so cool, and she was very sweet and attentive.

There are so many things more to share, but, another day!

Atlanta Landmarks – Manuel’s Tavern

IMG_5262This is one of the coolest dive bars in Atlanta. When we were in our twenties we came here all of the time. The food is great!IMG_5264It has not changed at all. Staycationers definitely need to go here. They are going to put in a mixed used development here starting next January. I overheard someone say today that they are going in preserve the interior as it is right now,

IMG_5271I really hope they don’t change it. Go see it now!IMG_5256

Great learning story….

On a decided day, the children brought their tomatoes well addressed. Some had two, some had three and some had even five tomatoes .
Teacher said they have to carry tomatoes with them everywhere they go for a week.
As the days passed the children started to complain about the spoiled smell of tomatoes . Students who had many tomatoes complained it was very heavy to carry.
Teacher asked, “How did you feel this one week?”
Children complained of smell & heavy weight of the tomatoes .
Teacher said, “This is very similar to what you carry in heart when you don’t…

Coop and I walked around for awhile.IMG_1187Local 7 was selling BBQ sandwiches. (oh and rumor has it they are opening another restaurant, can’t wait!) I went with Moonshadow Saloon’s BBQ sandwich. IMG_1220It was excellent.
