Kittridge Park and the beginning of Fall
Kittridge Park is beginning to show some signs of fall. I love to go across the bridge..
It was a beautiful fall day. Then we start climbing up the trail….
The trail is rustic and oh so peaceful…
So I let Coop walk off the leash.
He loved it! He did a great job.
You go up one trail up a steep hill and then down a steepish gravel trail…
Then across the way is another trail.
These steps lead up to a really nice shady portion of an easy trail.
So if you want a really nice fun easy hike head on over to the trail at Kittridge Park.
North Fork Creekside Trail
We woke up this morning to snow. It really improved this afternoon, so we (Coop and I), walked to the trail.
It was about 45 degrees and sunny. A beautiful walk! We came across these guys.
It is like a beach underneath the expressway.
A smelly dirty beach but a beach, oh with homeless people. Then we crossed the bridge.
Cool huh? But the most exciting part of the walk was across LaVista. They have started a new part to the trail.
Crazy, it says the trail will take you to Emory University, which is quite a way away.
It is still a little mucky and rustic, but hey it’s a trail on a beautiful day.
We did come across a few questionable items. How do you lose one shoe?
There were actually two shopping carts. Oh and as we were walking home we walked through a Wells Fargo drive through, where a super nice teller gave Coop a dog bone. He is a picky eater, but he loved the milk bone. What a great ending to a great walk!
Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain is a great place for a Staycationing Family. There is SkyHike, you can trek through the tree tops and they have zip lines. You can take the SkyRide to to top or you can hike to the top. (I decided to hike, it is not easy, but, it is an accomplishment. I mean, you ARE CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN!)
This is from the top. That is downtown Atlanta in the background Thank goodness when you get to the top there is a great breeze. I met the nicest gentleman who took this photo of me and helped to teach me how to get back down.
There are trails that you can hike around the mountain also. There is also a train you can ride to go around the mountain.
After your day in the park they have the worlds largest laser light show with a fireworks finale!
