Coop looking forward to a great walk next to the Chattahoochie River….
There was a bit of a breeze this spectacular day.
The ducks and geese were having a great time!
We walked a few miles.
There is a ton of parking available on Azalea Drive. (If you leave the pup at home you can check out Chattahoochie Nature Center too!)
Southeastern Railway Museum
Hello Staycationers, this place is really amazing. I do not know why we are drawn to trains, but they are so cool. I was driving down Bufford Highway and noticed this sign, so I had to investigate, I am so glad I did.
There are two warehouses with trains and taxis and firetrucks.
and you can go inside the trains too.
There is also a small train for kids to ride, how fun!
Then there is the train depot.
This is a real depot.
Oh and the
Duluth Historical Society is based in the depot. If you like trains even if you do not care, you really need to check this place out!
ThrowBack Thursday
Twisted Soul Kitchen and Bar
Will and I found a great new restaurant. We started out with 1/2 price appetizers, the Shrimp and Crab Fritters were the BEST!
Now 1/2 price on Tuesdays…
It is a very comfortable place and our waitress was great. My drink was outstanding, it was a take on a margarita made with White Lightning (yep, moonshine) it was called a Mountain Rita.
For the mains, I had the braised short rib lasagna with mushrooms goat cheese and tomato sauce. The goat cheese was great in this, it was so smooth and the tomato sauce was just perfect. It was an awesome comfort food, but it was even better today! Will had the fried chicken. I can honestly say, this is one of the best I have tried in Atlanta.
I got his leftover chicken. Oh here’s my entree.
The pasta was so light and delicious.
I totally recommend this restaurant. Let me know what you think!

Fun Staycation Ideas for Downtown Atlanta
If you have kids the fountains in Centennial Olympic Park are tons of fun…
Then you can ride the Sky View Ferris Wheel….
Then go to The Westin Peachtree Plaza The Sundial restaurant and bar….
The top two floors rotate, so you can have a sweet tea or a Coke and get a great view of Atlanta.
There are always the obvious Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke and The College Hall of Fame
On the Georgia Tech Campus there is the Clough Garden a roof top garden.
Oh and the new trolley is running and you can ride it for free. It will take you to the King Historic Area and Sweet Auburn Market.
The market has fresh fruit, seafood, sausage and meats and restaurants.
A lot of movies are being shot in Atlanta now, so you can go for an Atlanta Movie Tours…
They have several different tours you can take and enjoy.
The Summer is here and there are tons of fun things to do in Atlanta!
Meatless Monday….
I have really been trying to do this for about a year. I love veggies. (Don’t get me wrong, I love me a steak once in awhile too!)
For lunch a slice of cheese pizza and a tossed salad.
It is a good size slice too.
Then for dinner Boca Burger and a salad…
It is a good thing, and really not that hard to do.
