Atlanta Beltline

We started in The Old Fourth Ward and climbed up to the Beltline. IMG_5648  This is looking down at the Old Fourth Ward from the Beltline…IMG_5647

The Beltline is very well kept and has amazing artwork and architecture on the walk. IMG_5577This is Ponce City Market, it is going to be super cool for great shops and unique places to eat.IMG_5644Cool artwork on the Beltline!IMG_5585   IMG_5600    IMG_5609    IMG_5624

The Beltline leads you into Piedmont Park and this group of bike riders came up behind me…IMG_5634 Apparently the Atlanta Police must have a bike riding series for kids for the summer…pretty cool!

If you have the chance, you really need to check it out…IMG_5590(Additional information….this was built on old railway corridors and the Ponce City Market was the old Sears Building. The trains would run directly into the Sears Building, thus this sign…IMG_5580Pretty cool huh?)

Southeastern Railway Museum

IMG_5481Hello Staycationers, this place is really amazing. I do not know why we are drawn to trains, but they are so cool. I was driving down Bufford Highway and noticed this sign, so I had to investigate, I am so glad I did. IMG_5538There are two warehouses with trains and taxis and firetrucks.IMG_5484  and you can go inside the trains too.IMG_5491

IMG_5488    IMG_5501   IMG_5502 There is also a small train for kids to ride, how fun! IMG_5521 Then there is the train depot. IMG_5523  This is a real depot.IMG_5526Oh and the IMG_5530Duluth Historical Society is based in the depot. If you like trains even if you do not care, you really need to check this place out! IMG_5520

Twisted Soul Kitchen and Bar

imagesWill and I found a great new restaurant. We started out with 1/2 price appetizers, the Shrimp and Crab Fritters were the BEST! Twisted SoulNow 1/2 price on Tuesdays…images-2It is a very comfortable place and our waitress was great.  My drink was outstanding, it was a take on a margarita made with White Lightning (yep, moonshine) it was called a Mountain Rita.

For the mains, I had the braised short rib lasagna with mushrooms goat cheese and tomato sauce. The goat cheese was great in this, it was so smooth and the tomato sauce was just perfect. It was an awesome comfort food, but it was even better today!  Will had the fried chicken. I can honestly say, this is one of the best I have tried in Atlanta.Fried ChickenI got his leftover chicken. Oh here’s my entree. LasagnaThe pasta was so light and delicious.

I totally recommend this restaurant. Let me know what you think!
