I am praying for my family, friends and fellow bloggers who might be in this storms way.
Let’s hope it veers off course, that it now seems to be on.
Bradley Cooper and I were just at the beach in Florida a week ago.
Let’s hope it gets back to this.

Pasta Primavera! So yummy!

Caprese Salad! I am going to miss tomatoes for the winter.
Matthews Cafeteria – This is a great home cooking kind of place. The veggies are great. The meats are yummy. It has been around for quite awhile. It is located in Tucker GA. Not too far out. I really enjoy a vegetable plate. I like their meatloaf and turkey and dressing. They have cleaned the place up a bit and put up new photos. It is totally worth a visit!
The General Muir – Okay, this is a Great Deli in Atlanta. The Matzo Ball soup is out of this world. The broth is so pure and lovely, it is grace! The Matzo ball is light and unreal. They have a half of turkey sandwich that goes with it. I cannot explain the turkey sandwich because it is just some awesome roasted turkey and goodness. (Oh I guess I can explain)
Houstons – On Thursday, I love their Tortilla Soup. So, Soup and a salad here. I enjoy the Caesar Salad. They also have a great salmon appetizer. (it is a chain, but it is consistently excellent)
Community Q – Damn great BBQ. The Brisket is extremely good. The beef ribs were excellent! I loved them! The Mac n Cheese is absolutely the best I have ever had! Unreal!Brunswick Stew very good. Greens, meh, not so good.
Havana Restaurant – The Cuban sandwich is my go to meal. It is so great. You have to try it! I have had a cuban sandwich in Miami, and this i the closest thing to it.
There is a lot to do this October, in Atlanta. This past weekend the last baseball games were played at Turner Field.

Great Atlanta Beer Fest at Turner Field on the 8th also. There are Family Halloween Hikes at Chattahoochee Nature Center 10-21,22 and 10-28,29. Oh and Boo at the Zoo on 10-22 and 23 and 10-29, 30.
Amy Schummer is going to be at Phillips Arena on the 15th!Bonnie Raitt will be at the Fox Theater on the 22nd. Wow, Adele is going to be at Phillips Arena on the 28th and 29th.
Carol Burnett will be at Cobb Energy Center on the 24th. There is so much going on. I didn’t even include all of the football. UGA, GA Tech, the Falcons. If you want to do something fun, this is a great month to do it all!
I read a blog on a TedTalk about male violence and poverty. I didn’t see the talk, just read the blog. I thought I had such a fortunate life not to have experienced this but then I remembered something I have never told anyone ever.
I was walking to meet some friends at our junior high school, so, like 8th grade. It was about a half of a mile from home, but I walked this way every day. There was no one around, it was a day off of school. This car pulled up and an unshaven man asked me if I wanted a ride. I was panicky and freaking out. I knew it wasn’t a good thing, but, I didn’t want to be rude. Back in the day, you weren’t rude to adults, but you shouldn’t talk to strangers. I just yelled no thank you and ran away through the elementary school to the junior high. My heart was pounding, I was so scared. Nothing happened, but who knew?
I never told anyone. Not sure why. I guess because I was okay?
I have talked to a lot of people since, but not about this but about their abuse. The people I know who were abused were abused by family members, which is so horrible.
What can we do to make this go away?

To start, you put a ziplock bag in your fridge and every time you have a veggies left from chopping something, like a little leftover carrots, or half of an onion, part of a stalk of celery, or a hunk of zucchini oh and the stalk off of the broccoli. Then, you get a rotisserie chicken. Have some chicken for a meal then clean the chicken off of the bones. Put the chicken away and put the bones in a pot with the bag of veggies you have been collecting. Cover the carcass and veggies with chicken broth and water. Put the temp on high and once it starts boiling you can turn it down but keep it boiling, you will need to keep adding water.
After the second hour of boiling the vegetables will start to disintegrate. I usually put in an onion, two stalks of celery, some carrots and then whatever you have collected. I take my wooden spoon and smash the vegetables on the side of the pot. After the third hour you have pretty much gotten all the “goodness” out of the bones and veggies, as far as spices along the way, I always use italian spices and lemon pepper and turmeric (I try and put this in everything, it is so great for you!)
You can then freeze the broth, or build on it for your next meal.
