It’s another overcast chilly day in Atlanta. So what’s a girl to do? Go get some comfort food. Some down home country cooking at Matthew’s Cafeteria in Tucker, GA. It is located in Downtown Tucker. They serve a meat and two and sweet tea (but I noticed they are serving Lemonade also and unsweet tea).
This is just yummy comfort food. This is Salisbury Steak and green beans and mashed potatoes, along with sweet tea mixed with unsweet tea.
This was featured a few years ago on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.
I am going to be featuring great places for Staycationers to get the best food in different areas of town. Let me know what you are interested in.
Sobban Restaurant, Korean Sloppy Joe!
The Fall Festival on Ponce is an excellent Staycation idea for the whole family. They had so many rides and bouncy things and very happy children. There were a lot of super nice vendors with all kinds of artwork. It helped that the weather was super nice.
We saw two other King Charles Spaniels today also. They were tricolor King Charles. Oh and this cool artist I met told me the King Charles Spaniel is the most painted dog in history, because Kings owned them and all had portraits of themselves painted.
They had a few food trucks too. This festival is held in the fall and in the spring. There are a tone of fall festivals for you to enjoy during your Staycation.
Last night, my neighbors, Steve and Melissa and their son Aubrey and I went to No Mas Cantina for dinner. The company was excellent and the food was also! I had the Chicken and veggies, the tortillas were so fresh and light. Steve had the salmon and veggies, Melissa had a chimichanga and Aubrey had two tacos and an enchilada. The food was all great!
Our waitress was super sweet and just a great person.
Next door there is a store packed with fun stuff!
I mean a lot of cool stuff!
I didn’t take any photos of the food. I am sorry. But I will be back and I will take food photos.
Go and let me know what you think! Castleberry Hill is a fascinating area of town.
