My blogs are usually light. This is not dark but just totally honest and highlighting something very important in my life, my dad. The dementia has changed him somewhat but underneath it all, there is still the very sweet kind man who was always there.
During the transition he went through some tough times. He didn’t understand what was happening and he was scared and he took it out on those around him. He ran into the neighbors mailbox and blamed it on the car. He started making lists to take to the store because he would forget why he was there. (But really don’t we all need to make lists?)
I spent a few days with him this past week, unfortunately it was a few days in the hospital. He taught me something about him. He doesn’t immediately know the answer to any question. It is something you need to draw out of him. I feel like we get so impatient and want immediate answers. If you remind him and kinda prod him, he gets it.
I think patience might be the answer to everything though. Let’s not be so quick to judge. Let’s try to wait and see what happens because you never know what is going to happen and if you are open to it you get to experience miracles and LOVE!
My neighbor Will was in London recently, and I told him to go get some fish n chips and he responded with a pint. Ha Ha right, NO, then I craved fish ‘n chips and a pint.
So, I headed to The Brick Store Pub..
It was so crowded downstairs so I had to go upstairs.
It’s very cool upstairs.
They have a gizillion beers…
Not to mention what’s on tap. I got this…
It was very good and a local Brewery. The star was the fish and chips though, they really made it special!
Oh but they have a pretzel out of this world too!

It has been raining in Atlanta for two days and a cold front will be coming in tonight. So, I was craving some comfort food. Pork chops with Luck’s Giant lima beans.
I got a great deal on the chops, $1.49.
I put olive oil in fry pan and heat up and season pork chops with a ton of fresh ground pepper and garlic salt. Sear the chops for about 4 1/2 minutes per side. Then take the chops out and put the beans in the pan.
Use three cans, the liquid the beans are in, thickens up and becomes like a gravy.
Then put the chops back in and cook for another 10 minutes and it is done.

It really is comforting!
Studies have shown that if you have an important meeting or decision to make if you actually take a stance like a superhero, with your hands on your hips, and chest pumped out, it will really make a difference.

My niece Zelda thought she would like a food truck to cater her birthday party, oh, a taco food truck. (Her birthday is in September) I think it is good to do some research. I had a great taco from a food truck last summer. It was a Korean Taco food truck. Yumbii was the truck, so we went to look for it today. It was going to be at Peachtree and 12th today. When we got there, there were about 12 food trucks.
The real problem was there was no parking, we parked in the Loews Hotel parking garage. (I love Loews Hotels, they love dogs!)
Okay, we had to check out the different trucks…

It was great, we went to 3 different trucks. Zelda got the gyro, Ella the rice bowl and I got two tacos. Oh wait food photos too!
Rice bowl, with marinated tofu seaweed, edemame, special sauce, yummy!
Gyro!

Tacos! and great french fries!
The one truck I really wanted to try was the Lobster Truck. I will try it soon. It was on Shark Tank.
You really have to try park, it is great!
In my quest for the best Fajitas, I neglected to check Pappasitos. My nieces and I were on the way to the Booth Museum in Cartersville, GA and stopped here for lunch.
We started with some queso dip.
This was some of the best queso we all have ever had, we gave it a huge thumbs up! We ordered the chicken fajitas, medium to share.
(the chip and salsa are great too!)The fajitas were really good. One of my nieces had never had fajitas before and she is 16. We loved them.
I know these are steak, but it shows all you get with them. They are excellent and I recommend them!
We are going to try a Korean Taco Truck on Thursday! I love that they will try anything with me!
