Never underestimate the power of clothing…

Before…
Now…still a work in progress!
I have been watching these beautiful Yellow Finches playing in the blackened susans for a few weeks. I decided to try and capture them in photos…Here’s what I got…

Pretty cool huh? Then they were gone!

This didn’t happen with my parents, but my grandparents were big fans of the Sunday drive. My Grandfather had a super old car called Black Beauty and we would get in and go for a drive. It was great fun and at the end we would stop at the Custard Stand. Life was good!
So, today I decided to take a drive. I headed out on Buford Highway. Buford Highway is an interesting place to visit on its own, for dining purposes. It is an eclectic blend of ethnic cuisines. It has great Pho places, great Tortas places, many Asian and many Mexican restaurants. Oh, and they have three Crawdad restaurants too.
Along Buford Highway there are so many small town that have Historic Districts. It runs along a railroad. The first we come along is Historic Norcross
This has a handful of really good restaurants and a few cute shops.
Then we come to Historic Duluth…
Guess what? Cute restaurants and a few cute shops and a splash fountain.
Next we run into Historic Buford…
I think all of these towns have done a great job of building up their “downtown” areas up to great places for concerts and movies on the green and just fun for people that live out in the suburbs to get a community feeling.
If you have a chance take a Sunday drive and discover something new!
I was walking around to day looking for beauty and luckily it is everywhere you look!

My neighbor Josi has her niece and nephew spending the weekend with her, along with their friend Kelly. They invited me to go walk on the belt line with them this afternoon.
So, off we went…
There was a drummer and a sax player playing some music. Oakley really heard the beat and loved it.
This is Oakley…and next is the DANCE….

She was having a blast.
If you have a chance, you should check out The Beltline.
My blogs are usually light. This is not dark but just totally honest and highlighting something very important in my life, my dad. The dementia has changed him somewhat but underneath it all, there is still the very sweet kind man who was always there.
During the transition he went through some tough times. He didn’t understand what was happening and he was scared and he took it out on those around him. He ran into the neighbors mailbox and blamed it on the car. He started making lists to take to the store because he would forget why he was there. (But really don’t we all need to make lists?)
I spent a few days with him this past week, unfortunately it was a few days in the hospital. He taught me something about him. He doesn’t immediately know the answer to any question. It is something you need to draw out of him. I feel like we get so impatient and want immediate answers. If you remind him and kinda prod him, he gets it.
I think patience might be the answer to everything though. Let’s not be so quick to judge. Let’s try to wait and see what happens because you never know what is going to happen and if you are open to it you get to experience miracles and LOVE!
My niece Zelda thought she would like a food truck to cater her birthday party, oh, a taco food truck. (Her birthday is in September) I think it is good to do some research. I had a great taco from a food truck last summer. It was a Korean Taco food truck. Yumbii was the truck, so we went to look for it today. It was going to be at Peachtree and 12th today. When we got there, there were about 12 food trucks.
The real problem was there was no parking, we parked in the Loews Hotel parking garage. (I love Loews Hotels, they love dogs!)
Okay, we had to check out the different trucks…

It was great, we went to 3 different trucks. Zelda got the gyro, Ella the rice bowl and I got two tacos. Oh wait food photos too!
Rice bowl, with marinated tofu seaweed, edemame, special sauce, yummy!
Gyro!

Tacos! and great french fries!
The one truck I really wanted to try was the Lobster Truck. I will try it soon. It was on Shark Tank.
You really have to try park, it is great!
